Why IT coordination is crucial at the start of a project

At the beginning of every project, there are countless details to consider – but the topic of IT coordination in particular is often neglected. A well-thought-out IT strategy is decisive for the success of your project. Imagine the workforce on the construction site doubling or tripling: Suddenly, numerous employees need to access shared data at the same time. Without the right infrastructure, this quickly leads to chaos. Unfortunately, the reality is often different:

• Files are exchanged by e-mail because there is no central repository.
• Employees are switching to working from home because they can work more productively there.
• In the middle of the construction period, hardly anyone has an overview of the important correspondence.

By then at the latest, it will become clear that it is too late for a fundamental realignment. A subsequent IT strategy cannot simply be implemented "on the side" – and certainly not without affecting ongoing operations. The bitter realization usually comes too late: Why didn't we do it right from the beginning?
